and she's off to Sin City!

This weekend has been busy as I had to finish up some shopping, eyebrow waxing and hopefully today a cut and color before heading to Vegas on Monday for the week.
I am looking forward to it....mostly because I will get about 24hrs. alone prior to the rest of my group arriving for the remainder of the week. Nothing against them, I can't wait to hang with my Mom, Cousin and sisters (This is a delayed birthday trip for my Mom's 80th) But the idea of having a day alone is so appealing. I am never, repeat NEVER alone at home. I'll probably be bored to death but we will see.
Vegas is old hat to me... been there many, many times and stayed at a lot of nice places but this will be the first time staying at the Palazzo so I am looking forward to that!
I'm not looking forward to flying....Atavin should help! It is only two hours but I am a chickenshit and almost had decided to drive but in the end bought the dang plane ticket.
So if I am hit and miss this coming week on the comments....forgive me, just means I am kicking ass at the blackjack table.

Band news: No fill for me at my last visit Feb 10th (my choice) so that means I have had my current fill for 6 weeks which is the longest I've gone since the the first fill after banding.

I am very close to Onederland and my goal is to get there by Easter.

I've been in a strange eating cycle where I will have 2-3 days where I consume very little and then a day where I can eat almost anything...almost being the key word
Yesterday was a pack it in day for me so I will post what I ate:

two cups of coffee

11am mixed a tin of tuna with half an avocado and ate with about 5 water crackers
water
3pm half a bean and cheese burrito from Taco Bell
water
6pm I made a pot of shrimp creole soup and I had about 1/4 c of rice and probably two cups of the broth (canned tomatoes, chicken stock, seasoning) and about 8 boiled med. shrimp
coffee
Reading that it doesn't seem too bad but I felt like it was a lot as compared to the prior couple days.

I have officially become the queen of all condiments - seriously! I have an entire shelf in the fridge dedicated to my dipping sauces and I've found I really can't eat much without them.
My newest favorite is a sweet & spicy mustard that I have been using on meatballs, as salad dressing, with salmon burgers and I have even dipped my string cheese in it. Next week it will be something new I am sure.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead!
I'm off like a prom dress....

  2. I'm NEVER alone either. Enjoy your day to yourself, I think I would love that. Ativan is my flying friend, too. And don't get too sick of Vegas (and scout stuff out)!

  6. Hey Jen...have a fabulous timem and enjoy your alone time even if you watch a dvd and chill with a glass of something or read a book...bliss. I feel a bit like you with my band and I have only had one fill. Some days I can eat about as much as you but other days I would struggle to get anything in. Are you at your sweet spot??? Have a great time

  7. woohoo-i always dread being along but then I end up feeling really good and happy when i get the alone and quiet time. I don't know what the deal is with that (I am alone right now in a hotel bar). You would think I would remember the joy but I never seem to.

The food thing is weird isnt it? I think what you are having happen is that you are cycling up and down on a fill. About 6 months ago when I needed another fill I would be hungry and eat a lot when I was at the low end of my 6 pound range and full when I was at the top of the weight range. I think it was fat on my stomach inching on and off with the weight. Now that I am closer to goal the range is about 3 pounds instead of 6.
