Sitting in my swanky hotel....alone :)

Arrived in Vegas on an uneventful flight that I had the pleasure of sitting by a chatty young man... okay, he might have been 30-35 but he was so nice and could tell I was not comfortable flying... he chatted while we took off and it made the trip go by fast. It was only 1hr 24min in the air.
For some reason I spilled my whole story to him about the band and fear of the plane seat and blah blah blah.... Now I think why couldn't I have just shut up already...

NSV: plane seat was awesome, plenty of room and the belt had 8-10" left on the tail of it!

Arrived and checked into a beautiful suite and thought about hanging and ordering something from in suite dining but couldn't find anything that sounded band friendly so check this shit out......
I went downstairs and entered a restaurant BY MY SELF and ordered a meal and enjoyed it quite a bit. (baked chicken breast and some yummy smashed yams)  Then promptly lost $50 in a slot machine and called it quits.
So now I am hanging in the room, watching some tv and thinking about hitting up the spa tomorrow for a haircut as I didn't get around to it before leaving. The rest of my crew gets here tomorrow afternoon so I may go do a walk of the strip and scout out some coffee if I can't get an appointment for my hair.

They actually have a scale in the bathroom! A Scale! nothing like keeping you accountable :)
Well my peeps, I've bored you enough about my little adventure.....Goodnight!

and she's off to Sin City!

This weekend has been busy as I had to finish up some shopping, eyebrow waxing and hopefully today a cut and color before heading to Vegas on Monday for the week.
I am looking forward to it....mostly because I will get about 24hrs. alone prior to the rest of my group arriving for the remainder of the week. Nothing against them, I can't wait to hang with my Mom, Cousin and sisters (This is a delayed birthday trip for my Mom's 80th) But the idea of having a day alone is so appealing. I am never, repeat NEVER alone at home. I'll probably be bored to death but we will see.
Vegas is old hat to me... been there many, many times and stayed at a lot of nice places but this will be the first time staying at the Palazzo so I am looking forward to that!
I'm not looking forward to flying....Atavin should help! It is only two hours but I am a chickenshit and almost had decided to drive but in the end bought the dang plane ticket.
So if I am hit and miss this coming week on the comments....forgive me, just means I am kicking ass at the blackjack table.

Band news: No fill for me at my last visit Feb 10th (my choice) so that means I have had my current fill for 6 weeks which is the longest I've gone since the the first fill after banding.

I am very close to Onederland and my goal is to get there by Easter.

I've been in a strange eating cycle where I will have 2-3 days where I consume very little and then a day where I can eat almost anything...almost being the key word
Yesterday was a pack it in day for me so I will post what I ate:

two cups of coffee

11am mixed a tin of tuna with half an avocado and ate with about 5 water crackers
water
3pm half a bean and cheese burrito from Taco Bell
water
6pm I made a pot of shrimp creole soup and I had about 1/4 c of rice and probably two cups of the broth (canned tomatoes, chicken stock, seasoning) and about 8 boiled med. shrimp
coffee
Reading that it doesn't seem too bad but I felt like it was a lot as compared to the prior couple days.

I have officially become the queen of all condiments - seriously! I have an entire shelf in the fridge dedicated to my dipping sauces and I've found I really can't eat much without them.
My newest favorite is a sweet & spicy mustard that I have been using on meatballs, as salad dressing, with salmon burgers and I have even dipped my string cheese in it. Next week it will be something new I am sure.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead!
I'm off like a prom dress....

Beautiful Blogger Nomination - Thanks Band-Babe!

"THE RULES"

* Copy the award and post it in your blog;
* Link to the blog of the person who nominated you;
* Tell seven interesting things about yourself;
* Nominate seven bloggers and;
* Post links to the blogs of your nominees

Wow! That was cool to be nominated by Band-Babe (Lara) Thank you very much!  She and I share a mutual affection for firemen :)

Hmmm, Seven interesting things about myself? That is a stretch! Haven't I shared all by now?

1. I met my husband when I was 15 and he was 36! We've been together 25 years. We have three children and  in the grand scheme of things have been pretty solid. It might not be traditional but it has worked for us so far. (I'm 40 now and he is 61)

2. I'm shy....not just shy but S-H-Y! I break out in hives, have panic attacks and have come close to fainting when in new social situations. I hate it but have no control over it. I keep trying and so far have not made a complete fool of myself..... yet. It is the one thing I would change OVER losing weight if I could snap my fingers and be healed.

3. I've kept and maintained an anonymous erotic blog for about five years now....that I won't be sharing ;)~ Guess I am not so shy when under the veil of anonymity!

4. I'm really restless at this point in my life. I feel like "my time" is so close I can taste it.... just not sure what to do with myself. My youngest will turn 18 in June and not that your job as a mother is ever done.... but I feel like it is one of the hurdles and once over it I can take more time for myself without feeling guilty.

5. My Dad was a polygamist. Not like "Big Love" type but he traveled for work as a private investigator and had multiple relationships. We didn't know anything about it until after he died and I found out he had another daughter. I've met her a couple times. It is strange....I keep waiting for more siblings to turn up out of the blue.

6. I've been searching for years for an artistic outlet. I feel the need to "create" but pretty much suck at everything I have tried so far or I get bored with it. I've tried it all....painting, scrapbooking, beads, knitting, pottery, leather work, photography.... Nothing keeps my interest but I am still searching. I think I would like to learn how to tie flies. (for fly fishing) at least I could give them away to some of the guys I work with.

7. Although I do a bit of office work now....I spent a good number of years working construction (as a Hydroseeder) Hydroseeding is the green stuff you see being sprayed along the side of the freeway on hillsides. It is an application used to prevent erosion on newly disturbed earth. The green stuff is just a dye so you can see where you sprayed. The rest is a mix of mulch made from recycled newspaper, seeds, fertilizer and a glue made from seaweed. I loved that work. My husband and I ended up starting our own Erosion Control company. We just recently sold it in California.

Time flies when you're having fun!

Just a quick post to let you know I'm still kicking! I'm just a slacker. I went back to work to fill in for someone for a couple weeks and then left for a few days in Lake Tahoe with my sisters. Today I am back at work but only today this week.... I am ready to rest a day or two!

I will report that my scale was kind to me this morning :) The lowest I have seen in 18 years! I had expected it to go up with the travel (11hr drive where I ate a bag of BBQ lay's) We ate pretty healthy at the cabin, went out to dinner one night but all I had was a burger less the bun and a few pieces of calamari. I increased my water back to 60-80oz. Not sure what the deal is but I am not complaining! Maybe with my Vegas trip coming up in a couple weeks I will lose again? Maybe? It could happen!

I was laughing at my last support group about how before when I would go to Las Vegas I would look at all the menus online before we would go to see all the goodies I wanted to try... But now I was searching the menus in a whole different mindset... What can I have?

Got some bad news from my NP last week.... Looks like my cholesterol actually went up in the last six months. Not what I wanted to hear but I think it may have a lot to do with the fact that prior to surgery I ate very little meat and no cheese or milk products whatsoever. Bread & Veggies, that was me... So, I guess I have start watching the meats & dairy I have been choosing. High cholesterol runs in my family so it was suggested that I see my PCP and talk about medication. UGGGHH WTF? That was one of the motivations for doing this surgery in the first place...to avoid medication! Time will tell I guess. In all honesty I haven't been as active the past couple months as the first four but I am hoping that with the longer days and better weather ahead I will get back into it.

I am going to catch up on all the blogs tonight. (I didn't have internet in Tahoe) so I am WAY BEHIND!!! Promise to catch up though :)
