Turtle Shell

Doing a bit of hiding, trying to read and stay caught up on the blogs.
I'm okay...sorta. Still in a bit of overwhelm mode and I don't see any relief in sight.

Good news is the scale is moving again! Amazing what stress, no sleep, lots of caffeine and crying till your dehydrated can do for you. (not quite that bad)

Thanks for all the supportive comments before. It sounded like I was just bitching about kids being kids and hubby's being hubby's...It is a bit more complicated and I will try to post about it sometime soon.

Got to hold and snuggle with my great nephew last night.... Good therapy! He is just over a year and came to visit. He feel asleep in my arms and since my BABY turned 18 over the past weekend it was well needed. Then when he cried I gave him back! :)

Just checking in and trying to get it together.. Uggh!

  1. My brother and wife are having a baby girl in September and I'm so excited. My baby is 11.

  2. Hang in there, it is hard when it all seems overwhelming.

  3. Baby time can be very calming. :) I remember those days...when you hold a baby it as if everything else in the world becomes unimportant. Hugs and hang in there is right!
    Take some time to yourself!

  4. I just read the previous post. I am so sorry you are having a hard time. My sister's husband (my BIL) has been checked out due to pain meds for the better part of three years too. I can totally understand how stressful that is. I can also relate to the money stresses. I'm in Eugene if you want to try to get together one of these days. We could meet half way and have lunch. I've never met someone with a lap-band in person! As for your son, it is probably time he started taking responsibility for things like traffic tickets. Hang in there!

  5. So when are you coming up my way? We can commiserate over drinks (either coffee or stronger)....

  6. Ahh Jen,
I'm so sorry you're going thru such a tough time - I missed the last post due to being so busy and I feel awful for it.
Things WILL get better - they just have to. Wish I could be there to help some ((HUGS))

  7. Hi little turtle... been thinking about you. I'm happy to see your blog... that's a good sign! Keep writing... it's therapy. LOVE YOU!

  8. PS- We need to email or something about possible Chicago plans... the committee is anxious to finalize hotel plans.

  9. It was such a sweet surprise to find you checked on me! that meant a lot to me, thank you. I've ducked out completely for the last 2 mos - I'm fine - I just wanted to see what would happen if I totally dropped the focus on this whole process and let happen whatever happens.....all is good.
I understand you're dealing with A LOT. I totally understand and it IS so frustrating to feel like while you're trying to keep your head above water - and do everything - it ends up that nothing is done well and you forget stuff, aren't the person you want to be, and just don't have the time. One thing I know for sure is that it will get better - everything always seems to go in circles for me which means when it gets bad I just know its going to come around. It always does. You also have to decide which things (like birthday cards or commenting on all the blogs you want to or whatever) are just going to have to not be a priority and its ok. B/c your intention is good and soon as things turn around you will get to do those things again. I am thinking of you and I again just want to say thank you for reaching out to me while you were the one under so much work and stress.
